Life is Peachy

Hello to all!  This weekend, we will be attending the largest speech and debate invitational in Georgia.  Carrollton High School/Carrollton Middle School will co-host the Peach State Classic this Friday and Saturday, November 21-22, 2008.  We are taking 86 students to the tournament!  Policy debaters will leave from Grady HS at 2:30pm on Friday.  Those students in Dramatic Interp, Humorous Interp, Duo Interp, Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Impromptu, Prose/Poetry, Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Public Forum Debate will leave from the Eighth Street parking lot at 6:30am.  Students should arrive at 6:15am.  Cost is $10.00.  This information is also on the parent permission forms.  If you child is in policy debate, then you want download the permission form by clicking here. If your child is any other event, click here for that permission form. Let’s go get ‘em!

As 82 of us head to the Fayette County Classic Speech and Debate Tournament, I wanted to thank all parents and alum who agreed to judge this weekend!  In total, there will 96 people representing The Jesters this weekend!  For a copy of the Fayette County permission form if your child is in policy debate, click here for the permission form. So, we went to ze Vaffle House, and there was this scary guy who came around and offered everyone candy. Granted, it was Halloween, but still… All will be happy to know that we arrived back at the hotel safely, exhausted after a day of competition. But… who is that masked man?

After five long hours of Lucas’ and Tyler’s foot fiasco, we’re all safe and sound (besides our noses) In Florida. We are at the tournament, it’s round one, and we will continue to update on what we know in this post throughout the weekend.
